Proud moment.

Emma's Sunday School teacher (and Emma's favorite human!) told me about a situation at church today.  They were playing a competitive team game, where captains picked the teams and the last one left would be the judge.  Immediately I thought "Emma must not have been picked" but she was.  The game was to suck a cotton ball on the end of a straw and carry it a distance.  Immediately Emma raised her hand and said "I can't do that - my top lip."

Her teacher said she was mortified that she hadn't considered Emma in this, but Emma was nonplussed and thrilled when told that she could be the judge!

When it came to the return part of the game -blowing the cotton ball with a straw - Emma declared she could do that and proceeded to demonstrate!

There is no way to escape these situations, but I am so thankful to have people who love Emma so much that they care, and that Emma is neither shy nor embarrassed to explain her issue.

We can kill ourselves trying to teach our kids what's right, and their worth, but when you see the fruit, when you see them have inner strength, boy does it make it worth it!!
