Since my mum emailed me today to check we are all still alive and kicking, I'm assuming there may be others of you who are getting blog-deprivation!! Well, I've finally found some time to write, and I have some great stories and pictures!
So, where have we been? Well, June 2nd marked a belated anniversary celebration for Scott and I when we left the kids with their grandparents for the night, got [free] spa treatments and [free] dinner with some giftcards we received, and got a great nights sleep, with no midnight visitors!
And this past Sunday, baby Sophia got dedicated at church, and we had a great party at Scott's moms after, in the sun and 90f heat! Have I mentioned I love the summer?!
I do have a couple anecdotes I've been dying to share with you, mainly Emma-isms, so here goes...
A week or so ago, the kids and I were on our way to the exit after picking up a few things in Target. I noticed a small wad of cash on the floor and told Emma to pick it up. Now, surprisingly my reaction was not [at all] to pocket the money! Instead I escorted Emma to Customer Service where she jumped the queue (what? like I had time to wait in line) and told the cashier she "found this on the floor and wants to hand it in". All the people that glared at us when we walked up "ooh"ed and "aww"ed about Emma!
On the way to the car I said "See Em, look how happy it made all those people when you did the right thing!" What an awesome moment for a life lesson!
On Friday I took the kids bowling and to Chick Fil A while Scott was working late...
Toby waited with Emma to see how well she did!
While at Chick Fil A I asked the kids what they wanted to get Scott for his impending [30th] birthday. Emma journeyed through these options:
- New work clothes (clean and practical!)
- A surprise party
- "I want to give him some love!"
Cute or what!
Contrastingly, in the bathroom at the same restaurant Emma saw a woman
with a long ponytail. Unusually, her hair was all grey and she was
"older". Emma said "Mom, that woman has hair all the way to her butt."
I told her that her hair would be that long someday. She responded
with "Oh, it's because she's ..." I interrupted with a quick "Ah! Shhh."
Here are a few of my miscellaneous pics coming at you!
Kitchen "surfing"
Finally tall enough!
Playing house with Kaylee at church!
Finding the strangest places to watch TV!
Emma sticks with the traditional!
Yesterday we had Serenity over for a play date. The girls played "doctor" most of the time. When I told Serenity that Emma sees the doctor alot, like her, her eyes lit up! It may not be the same, but I wanted her to know that she's not odd.
Check out Emma's grin! Both Emma and Toby were the perfect hosts!
This game was called "Fashion Show"!!
