Emma's surgeon is very happy with her progress. She has been gaining enough weight to continue on un-fortified milk. The G-Tube site has healed well. He said we probably won't need to see him again, which is great, but we do like him so that's a shame!
We did ask a question about Emma's abdomen as she seems to be bigger on the right side than the left. We thought it might have to do with the way her bowels were put back in that made her lopsided.
On the contrary he suggested it might be scoliosis - an extreme lateral curvature of the spine. This does makes sense as she always arches her back to curve to the left, like a banana. That said nothing will be done about it at this age, we'll just have to monitor it and do corrective exercises.
It's good to know that her belly is doing well, even if we may face this additional challenge down the road.
