Some relief

So the neurologist emailed me back and said that she didn't think it was CCD as Emma does not have any abnormality in her collarbone, which would be the primary sign. Phew!

That said, she is intrigued about why the fontanel is still open, although it could remain open and cause her no harm - the soft spot is not all that soft. However, the open fontanel and asymmetry of Emma's head could be indicators of a different craniosyntosis syndrome. She does not have enough information on all the possibilities so she suggested we follow-up with genetics who are able to make a call between unusual differences and actual abnormalities.

Emma first saw genetics as a newborn, but Dr. W. said that it can help to go back after a couple of years as new features may have developed that were not present before, and new discoveries are made all the time.

If they don't see any underlying condition we really don't need to worry about the soft spot. Even if there is a condition that caused it to remain open it may not have serious health implications, so I'm markedly less worried!!

I'm not going to make any moves on it just yet, I'll wait until all the appointments are done this month, and maybe until we see her pediatrician at her 2 year check-up.
