Time flies

I can't believe July is almost over already! I haven't posted any of the videos or pictures I took since July 13!! you must be bored with all the writing - I know you love the visuals!

Lets go back in time, to July 13th:

Emma's not the only one who likes to sing it loud...

This is Toby's favorite hang-out,

which wouldn't be so bad if the chairs were a little heavier and more stable! So I had to figure out a way to corral him in the living room.

Introducing the play pen...

The ottoman strategically blocks the stairs, which have become Emma's space away from Toby's grabbing hands. His toy basket (top left) blocks the corner where Emma's little table and chairs are, and at the bottom his chair and exersaucer block the path to the dining room. At least until he figures out how to climb over them!

I don't keep him penned in all the time, just when Emma and I need a break!

This weekend a dream of mine came true. On Saturday afternoon we were all down for a nap but we could hear Emma was not sleeping. In fact she was going around all the toys on her bed saying "Hello, my name is Emma/dog/horse/sleepy Dora" etc. (Scott has been teaching her how to introduce herself!)

I went in to explain the need for sleep and found myself immediately inviting her to come and nap in with us. Se readily agreed and in she came - no wires attached! I'm not sure which of us was more excited.

It took her a few minutes, but we all soon fell asleep. I got up before the others and when I came back in Emma was awake. I asked her "Are you sleeping in my bed?" She grinned and said "Yes." Then putting her hands up to her face she said "Take a picture Mummy!"
